victims of this recent crash, which shows us that mistakes can happen in train stations as well as
on highways. We’d also like to offer support for any victims of the crash.
A New Jersey Transit train crashed into the Hoboken station Thursday morning killing at least
one and injuring 108.

The train came to a halt in a covered area between the station’s indoor waiting area and the
platform, collapsing a section of the metal shed roof and heavily damaging the station.
Officials said the train was crowded, particularly the first two cars, because they make for an
easy exit into the Hoboken station and onto the PATH train. Passengers in the second car broke
the emergency windows to get out.

Jamie Weatherhead-Saul of Wood-Ridge described the bloody scene. “The conductor, I don’t
know how he managed to get out, but he opened the doors for us and we got out.”
